Erasmus Reise der 8AB nach Mallorca

Our Erasmus+ trip to Mallorca was an unforgettable experience filled with new friendships, cultural exchange and exciting activities.

Despite the unexpected heavy rain, which even caused schools to close on Monday, we explored Palma, visited the famous La Seu Cathedral by the sea and enjoyed a scenic ride on the historic train from Sóller.

During our visits to the Spanish school, we were welcomed with a warm ¡Hola! and exchanged presentations about tourism, discussed its positive and negative effects and learned about each other’s cultures. We also took part in sports activities that the Mallorcan students had organised for us and enjoyed playing together. Some of us even helped younger students practise German.

One of the highlights was our cooking exchange. The Spanish students prepared traditional Coca de Trampó and lemon cake for us, while we introduced them to Austrian Kaiserschmarrn and other specialities. Everything was absolutely delicioso!

Outside school, we explored the beautiful village of Deià, admired Mallorca’s breathtaking coastline and visited the charming Plaça de la Constitució with its impressive Sant Bartomeu church in Sóller. Our teachers also ordered a variety of traditional Spanish tapas for us to try, and we enjoyed some delicious local desserts. We finished our trip with a fun padel session.

What impressed us most was how welcoming and friendly the Spanish students were. Despite occasional language barriers, we quickly connected, shared lots of laughs and made many new amigos and amigas.

We returned to Austria with wonderful memories, new friendships and a greater appreciation for different cultures.

¡Muchas gracias por todo, Mallorca! ¡Hasta pronto! 🇪🇸
